In-Between Days: News from PHYSIS in June

We are almost halfway through 2026.  June is a month of abundance, long evenings and warmer temperatures. Approaching the end of May, we had quite glorious sunshine for days, and the countryside, and more urban green spaces were lush and verdant. ‘No Mow May’ encouraged swathes of weed and wildflower, and the pollinators are busy busy busy living their lives with an energy and enthusiasm mere human beings cannot possibly emulate.

June events and festivals mark this point in the year as momentous in terms of visibility, resilience, joy, and liberation. Pride month – the commemoration of 1969’s Stonewall Riots – began in June 1970 and carries within its rainbows of identity and inclusion, a celebration of LGBTQ+ peoples, cultures, and a demand for equality, visibility and the right to ‘Be’.
